The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) at Dehradun was established in collaboration with the Government of The Netherlands, on the pattern of the International Institute for Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Enschede, the Netherlands for transfer of technology in the field of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics in developing countries .
